I’m not even sure how to start this post honestly, lol! I know next to nothing about fitness, but I have gotten so many DMs the past few months about my gym routine (or lack thereof), what I eat, and how I stay skinny eating Chick-fil-A so much! Hahaha. There is absolutely no secret sauce, I promise! I’m a firm believer that what works for one person doesn’t always work for the other. You just have to find BALANCE! For example: If you’re on a strict diet and eat 2 cookies, who cares! 2 cookies are not going to do anything. BUT don’t feel sorry for yourself that you cheated and go eat 10 more! That’s when it starts to count!
I guess I need to share the back story of my small weight loss. I always fluctuated between 110-115 pounds in high school! When I went to college, I found out the freshman 15 was NOT A JOKE. I swore it wouldn’t happen to me, but it did after all the alcohol and delicious (very fried) meals at the sorority house. I remember looking at the scale when I came home one weekend and it read 132, which was the heaviest I have ever been. 20 extra pounds on a 5’1 girl is very noticeable! But me being the confident twit that I am, I thought I still looked good. HAHA. I ended up at 125 pounds when I graduated in December 2017!
Most of you know that I moved back home after college because I wanted to blog full time. I seriously dropped to 113 pounds within a couple of months! It was crazy. I barely noticed until people started asking what I did! Sure, my jeans were not as tight, but I didn’t think much about it since I never weigh myself. Ignorance is bliss 😉
Now, I know exactly how I lost the weight without even realizing it! The biggest change wasn’t the fried sorority food (as shocking as that may be), but I basically stopped drinking alcohol! I was a social drinker in college and probably drank 3-4 times a week on average! I always heard that alcohol packed on the pounds, but I never thought anything about it. Ordering Dirty Shirleys on the reg, which are not calorie friendly, didn’t help either. After I returned home, the drinking stopped because I wasn’t going out all the time! I’ve never been one to pour a glass of wine after a long day either. My parents don’t drink, and I’m too lazy to go to the store to buy wine for myself! Haha.
If the above paragraph made you a little sad, I do have 2 other tips that have helped me keep the weight off. The first is portion control! Yes, I do eat Chick-fil-A frequently, but 95% of the time, I order a 6 count kids meal. And I might not even eat all of it! I always stop when I get full. Stuffing my face with food makes me feel bad! If I get hungry later in the afternoon, I will grab a small snack. The second is what I eat for dinner! My mom and I do Home Chef (a meal delivery service) and it’s pretty healthy but also tastes amazing. I seriously recommend it, especially if you hate the grocery store. All the ingredients are shipped to your doorstep! I’ll leave a link for it HERE! Get $30 0ff with code KELSIE30OFF!
With all of this being said, I am simply telling yall what I did/do to stay skinny. I promise I am by no means in shape because I rarely work out! If you do want to follow someone who shares workout tips, check out my friend Karrah! (Her IG) She’s the fitness queen! 🙂
