Europe Travel Guide

July 3, 2017

Over the past few years, I have gotten to travel to some amazing places, but my recent trip to Europe was by far my favorite adventure. I think traveling is something everyone should get to do because it’s SO eye opening and makes you more culturally aware. Although there were a few bumps along the way, I wouldn’t trade this experience and the things I got to see for anything! The more I travel, the more I fall in love with it, which is why I decided I want Sassy Southern Blonde to go into the direction of a lifestyle blog. My posts will still largely be fashion related, but I want to share other topics, like traveling, that I’m passionate about on my site! Below, I’m listing my top places/things to do by city that I **highly recommend** if you’re traveling to Europe in the future! 🙂

PARIS

~ See the Eiffel Tower light show that begins at the top of every hour when it gets dark! **The sun didn’t set until around 10, so it gave us extra time to sight-see before**

~ Visit the Louvre and view the Mona Lisa among other famous artwork. **Disclaimer: the painting is a lot smaller than you’d think**

~ Shop along the Champs-Elysees and be sure to visit the flagship Louis Vuitton store even if it’s just to look! **They were sold out of the cross body I wanted 🙁

~ My favorite show is Gossip Girl, so I had to buy macaroons at Laduree like Blair Waldorf! **Plus it’s only a block from Louis Vuitton**

~ Drive to the Palace of Versailles 10 miles outside Paris for the most extravagant architecture! **I enjoyed going here also because I’m completely fascinated with Marie Antoinette**

FLORENCE

~ See Michelangelo’s most famous sculpture, David, at the Galleria dell’Accademia

~ Schedule a wine tasting at one of the many wineries in the area.. **My favorite wine was Prosecco, which is pretty similar to Moscato**

~ Make sure to eat LOTS of pasta and pizza.. **I don’t think I had one bad meal there… even the McDonald’s was great ;)**

ROME

~ Tour the Colosseum and the Forum **This was the day we walked the most, so wear comfy shoes! They say Rome wasn’t built in a day, but I’m pretty sure we hit all the main attractions within a few hours**

~Visit Vatican City and go to the Vatican Museum where you’ll find beautifully painted ceilings among other artwork. **This is where the Sistine Chapel is located and it is absolutely breathtaking**

~Make time to go to the Trevi Fountain! **We missed visiting here and not experiencing this is my biggest regret of the trip**

VENICE

~ Ride a Gondola! **It looked like so much fun, but we never found time to do it**

~ Have a beach day on the Isle of Lido, just a Vaporetto (water taxi) ride away! **Don’t forget to pack sunscreen because the Italian sun is way worse…**

~ Travel to the Isle of Burano and admire the pretty colored houses along the island **We took SO many pictures here, I posted my favorite two above!**

These are just a few of the hundreds of things to do and see around Europe! I didn’t link the details of my outfits, but if y’all have any questions, just comment!! I hope everyone had a fabulous 4th of July. I decided to stay in Laurel and spend time with my family since I’m traveling to Washington D.C. next week! As always, thanks for reading!

Neon Pink Plaid + White Flares

June 14, 2017

TOP: J.Crew | JEANS: American Eagle (Similar) | SHOES: Nicole (Similar) | BELT: Hermes | BAG: Louis Vuitton | EARRINGS: Marcia Moran | BRACELETS: Budha Girl (Obsessed)

By now, most of y’all know that I kinda sorta love the color pink. It’s so fun and bright for summer, so I couldn’t help but snag this quirky J.Crew piece. To say the top is neon would be an understatement! I noticed that most of the sizes are sold out, but other companies have several listed for reasonable prices. (here and here!) My jeans have also gone pretty quickly, but Target has an identical pair that I linked above. **Target always saves the day** My adorable wedges are from a few seasons back, BUT I linked some amazing Steve Madden platforms that are to die for. Two words.. Rose. Gold. Ahhh! Since I bought them last Christmas, I have worn my Marcia Moran earrings more than any other pair I own! Although they are slightly pricey, these baubles are SO worth it. Not to mention they match everything! Another brand that I have fallen for is Budha Girl. The bracelets look like gold metal, but they are actually a semi-flexible fiber meshed together. Did I mention they are waterproof, weightless, soundless, AND TSA proof?! Plus they have a spiritual meaning, which I love! So these will def be all over my blog in the future! haha.

On another note, I am headed to Paris Saturday morning! 🙂 From there, we’ll travel to Italy and then return to the U.S. in two weeks. I cannot wait to share all the details of my trip with y’all.. Be looking for that blog post in July! I hope everyone is having a safe and fabulous summer. Thanks for reading!

European Vibes

 Happy Wednesday Y’all!

After a wild and busy spring semester, I have finally found some time to get back to what I love: blogging! Once I returned from Spring Break in the Dominican (I highly recommend staying at Barcelo Bavaro in Punta Cana), the final few weeks of my senior year went insanely fast! Even though I’ll be back in Starkville until December, our little college town won’t be the same without my best friends. Luckily, I have a fun summer planned to keep my mind off the inevitable.. (Plus I kinda need to start looking for a job!) Anyways, I am headed back to Atlanta next week to work for Karlie Clothes, which will be my 7th (or 8th?!) market. I absolutely adore spending the week with them, so it makes the work not so bad! From there, I’ll head to Starkville to prepare for my study abroad trip to Europe. Excited does NOT even begin to describe how happy I am to be visiting Paris, Florence, Rome, Milan, and Venice!

In honor of my European travels, I decided it was the perfect time to try the neck scarf trend. When I was at the beach, I found this sweet lace top and neck scarf at Express. I don’t normally shop there, but I was surprised to find several cute pieces, which will all be going in my suitcase to Paris and Italy! Lace is such a pretty look, so I knew this top was a summer must-have for roaming around Europe in. I paired the top and scarf with my red floppy hat and favorite denim flares. These Free People jeans fit perfectly and are perf for any woman! (I also love their skinnies) All outfit details are linked above. 🙂

Black on Black

February 16, 2017

Bodysuit: Karlie Clothes (Similar) | Skirt: Chicwish | OTK Boots: Steve Madden | Bag: Louis Vuitton | Sunglasses: BP. | Earrings: Panacea (Similar)

Happy Tuesday Y’all!

This past month has been crazy to say the least… Between school and life, I have been going nonstop! I am SO sorry I haven’t been consistently posting new content. (Already slacking on my New Year’s resolution, go figure. Ha!) But seriously, HOW is it almost March?! I’m heading to the Dominican in a couple weeks for my last Spring Break with my friends! Even though I’ll be here in the fall, most of them are graduating in May, so it’s our last trip together. *Cue the tears*

I took these pictures a few weeks ago when I was in Downtown Hattiesburg. My friend and I saw this graffiti in an alleyway and thought it was the coolest thing! Plus, it happened to match my outfit perfectly! Shockingly, I have added several black pieces to my wardrobe lately, which is NOT like me. Although I love black in the winter months, I definitely prefer color in my closet! I even jumped on the bodysuit bandwagon (with some skepticism), and I discovered that they are easier to wear than expected! The bodysuit went perfectly with my lace-up skirt and OTK boots. This is probably one of my favorite looks just because it’s so different than my usual style! My outfit details are linked above. Thanks for reading!

Zaful Review + Open Shoulder Sweater

February 5, 2017

Sweater: Zaful | Jeans: Free People (Similar) | Purse: Louis Vuitton | Belt: Hermes | Hat: Forever 21 | Earrings: Marcia Moran

Happy Tuesday!

If you read my last post, you know that I have a new weakness for Zaful and their cute, yet affordable merchandise! They literally have every trendy sweater (lace-up, choker neck, etc.) of this winter for half the price compared to other retailers. I mean who doesn’t love to stay in style without breaking the bank?! Plus, I was really impressed with the quality of my favorite pieces, especially my cold shoulder sweater! The fabric is thick, but not overbearing. I styled it with my Free People flares and my go-to Hermes belt! But I am really excited to transition this sweater into Spring with white denim. (Because white jeans should never be limited to a few months!) Zaful has also been adding adorable transitional pieces for the Spring to their website, so I know I will be placing another order soon! I am linking some of my top picks from their new arrivals in the carousel below! 🙂

XOXO
