IMPORTANCE OF SELF-CARE WITH PANTENE

October 12, 2020

*A special thank you to Pantene for sponsoring today’s post. All opinions are my own!*

Now more than ever, it is super important to make time for YOU! Although your busy schedule might have slowed down, that doesn’t mean your everyday stress and struggles just disappear! I’m teaming up with Pantene on the blog today to share some ways that have helped me decompress, especially with the extra time at home. Instead of it being a task on my to-do list, I decided to start using hair wash days as a way to reflect and refocus while pampering myself with the Pantene Nutrient Blends Collection!

For as long as I can remember, my mother has always inspired my beauty routine by telling me that taking care of yourself starts from within. Basically, drink LOTS of water! 🙂 If you do that, maintaining healthy skin and hair will be much easier. And as I’ve gotten older, I definitely see how right she was! My mother and I have both been coloring our hair for years, but we’ve never had major issues with hair loss or thickness because we have learned how to properly protect our hair.

Although my mom prefers being the one behind the lens, incorporating the Pantene Nutrient Blends Collection has been a perfect fit for us to prevent future hair damage! I’m currently loving the Fortifying Damage Repair Shampoo and Conditioner. The luxurious formula of the Fortifying Damage Repair Shampoo strengthens to protect for healthy resilient hair. The Fortifying Damage Repair Conditioner nourishes hair from damage and frizz! After I finish washing my hair, I add in the Pantene Fortifying Damage Repair Overnight Restoring Serum that provides an almost instant boost!

These products are safe for people with color-treated hair, but Pantene also has another line in their Nutrient Blends Collection to add fullness to fine, thin hair. That collection incorporates rose water, and this collection incorporates castor oil – so you can select the products depending on your hair care needs!

Having beautiful, healthy hair is something we all strive for, and I think the Pantene Nutrient Blends Collection achieves just that with an affordable price tag! If you feel like your current hair routine isn’t working anymore, I encourage you to switch it up with this collection. Finding products that work for you can change everything about your hair for the better! You can purchase the Pantene Nutrient Blends Collection at Walgreens HERE. Thanks for stopping by and talking all things self-care and hair with me! 🙂

PANTENE WATERLESS COLLECTION

October 31, 2019

*Special thanks to Pantene for sponsoring today’s post! All opinions are my own*

This may be surprising, but I absolutely dread getting ready! Especially when it comes to fixing my hair, which is why it’s always straight! The #1 product I use (even above hairspray) is dry shampoo! I’ve been obsessing over Pantene’s new Waterless Collection which contains the Cheat Day Dry Shampoo Foam and the Mist Behaving Dry Conditioner Mist because they smell amazing (my mom said it reminded her of cotton candy) and I can put off washing my hair even longer! Lol. You can ask anyone close to me, and they will tell you I live on dry shampoo. Using the dry shampoo foam and dry conditioner mist from the new Pantene Waterless Collection have been the perfect products to add to my daily beauty routine!

From the gym to photoshoots, my schedule is pretty hectic and busy! It’s hard to find time to catch a breath let alone wash my hair because we all know it’s a time consuming process. Most people don’t realize that with the right dry shampoo, your hair can definitely stay fresher longer and look as clean as the first day you washed it! 🙂 Pantene has products for various hair types, but I’m going to be discussing the Cheat Day Dry Shampoo foam and the Mist Behaving Dry Conditioner Mist!

Pantene Cheat Day Dry Shampoo Foam

This product works best with thick or colored hair! It is free of parabens and sulfates and seriously revives and brightens my blonde hair. The Cheat Day Dry Shampoo Foam even masks my darker roots and makes it look like my hair was recently colored! Another reason I love it is because the product has Pro-Vitamin B5 & orchid flower water in the foam to release clumped hair while the tapioca from the cassava root absorbs excess oil!

And it’s so easy to use! Shake the can well and dispense a small amount onto your fingertips- not directly at your roots! Section your hair and apply in small amounts at the roots and rub it in completely!

Pantene Mist Behaving Dry Conditioner Mist

I don’t know how I’ve made it without the Mist Behaving Dry Conditioner Mist! It’s essentially a leave-in conditioner and a styling spray! Who doesn’t want a product with multiple uses?! I love using it to keep my hair silky and smooth! The dry conditioner mist also has amazing frizz control and nourishes color-treated and heat-styled hair. Apply from 6-8 inches away at the mid-lengths to ends of your dry hair for the best results!

The Pantene Waterless Collection has transformed my non-wash days and allows me to extend the time between washes which is great for my busy schedule. You need to try this collection for yourself- it’s available at Kroger!

SHORT HAIR: CUT, COLOR, & EVERYTHING IN BETWEEN

November 2, 2018

CARDIGAN TOP STYLEFor anyone wondering how I do my half bun, there is a complete tutorial on IG TV. (Linked HERE) Literally takes 2 minutes! 🙂

All the products that I use are the EXACT ones. I didn’t add any just because I “think” they work! And certain ones are better for certain hair types. It all depends! My hair is naturally straight and thick but heavily colored, so I use products tailored to that!

Q: How do you keep your hair straight?

A: I have had SO many questions about this, but I don’t have a secret to share! 🙁 My hair is naturally straight with minimal frizz, so I never worry about it flipping out at the bottom. If you struggle with this, I suggest asking your hairstylist for tips/products that will help!

Q: What kind of cut/color do you ask for & how often do you have it done?

A: My haircut is a blunt cut to my collarbone! (I did get it above my shoulders this last time, but normally…) I have NO layers. The bottom is thinned out, though! I like the thicker look because it creates more volume but recommend getting them IF your hair is naturally curly or you just curl it a lot. I wear mine straight 99% of the time!

I ask for a bright, white blonde! My hairstylist foils my entire head with heavy highlights. (So heavy that it basically looks like straight bleach lol) I typically visit the salon every 5-6 weeks. If you’re local to Mississippi, I see Jacqueline at Vamp Salon in Jackson! 🙂

**I want to add that I have been dying my hair since 7th grade, and it’s still super healthy! There is a right way to do blonde hair, and you have to find a hair stylist you can trust who won’t damage/ruin your hair**

Q: How do you curl your hair?

A: I rarely curl my hair, but when I do, I use the Lange wand OR the Micro T3 curling iron. The T3 is pricey, but you can also wand your hair with it and the curls are really pretty! The Lange is great too, though. (I use the 1″ barrel for both) A lot of yall asked for a tutorial on how to curl short hair, so I’m thinking about doing one soon 🙂

Q: How do you get volume in short hair?

A: It’s so much easier adding volume to short hair versus long hair. The more length you have, the more weight that pulls the volume out! If it’s clean, I use Living Proof Volume Spray at my roots and work it throughout. If it’s dirty, my Batiste Dry Shampoo (I SWEAR by this) works wonders! Dry shampoo is one of the greatest inventions. EVER!

Q: What products keep your hair bright blonde?

A: Purple Shampoo 100%! I usually just buy a brand from Ulta that I’ll link below! I don’t use it every time I wash my hair or it would start looking gray! Lol. Also, don’t leave it on too long. I promise it’s working! (I know this from experience)
