NYE Outfit Inspo With Pink Possum Boutique

December 13, 2018

Christmas is 12 days away and soon after that, it will be New Year’s Eve! I wish there was more time between the two, but I don’t call the shots! Lol. I am teaming up with Pink Possum Boutique to share this precious outfit for Christmas OR NYE. (You can easily style these shorts with a sweater for a more casual look) I am personally LOVING them with the bodysuit, though! Throw a fur jacket (Like this tan one currently in stock) over it, and you are ready to take on the town! Oh, guess what?! My bodysuit ($15) and metallic shorts ($34) are under $50 together. And that’s before adding my discount code, Kelsie15! A few of my other favorites from Pink Possum are this leopard sweater with PINK TRIM (obsessed) and these leather shorts! Both under $50 as well!

Pink Possum Boutique ships same day, so there’s still plenty of time to get this outfit before Christmas and definitely before NYE! The store also has an app available for download HERE! I am wearing a small in both pieces, and they run TTS. Comment below or DM me if you have any other questions! 🙂

8 WAYS TO SAVE MONEY & STAY ON TREND

October 16, 2018

Chic Fall LookChic Fall LookChic Fall LookChic Fall LookChic Fall LookChic Fall LookChic Fall LookBODYSUIT | SKORT | BOOTS | SUNNIES | BRACELETS

Since I graduated from college, I have been saving my money like crazy! I guess this realization came after years of spending anything I made on clothes and shoes with nothing in the bank. Real life Carrie Bradshaw right here! I’ll never forget the scene in SATC when Carrie went to the bank to get a loan and she barely had $700 dollars in her account. Sure, it’s just a TV show, but a life lesson nonetheless! 🙂

The idea for today’s post came to me last week when I started thinking about all the pointless things I still spend money on. Don’t get me wrong, I LOVE getting my nails done and drinking Starbucks coffee. I’m just trying to learn to curb my spending habits and thought some of you might enjoy these tips as well! (Disclaimer: I am not a financial expert)

1: NAILS

Like I said above, I really enjoy going to the nail salon, but every two weeks is unnecessary! Save the trip for special occasions and learn to paint your own. It’s not as hard as it looks!

2: MAKEUP

High-end makeup is great until you buy 4 things, and it’s over $100… Luckily, Ulta has an entire section of affordable products that work just as well! (Or Walmart for that matter) I switched my $42 Estee Lauder foundation for the $12 Neutrogena SkinClearing foundation and I swear it works just as well. (The coverage is lighter) Ultimately, go through the makeup you have and decide what is absolutely necessary and what you could try in a cheaper version!

3: DUPES

If you don’t have the $$$ for designer pieces, it’s okay! Amazon has SO many amazing dupes that it’s mind-blowing. I did a full blog post HERE highlighting my favorites! (I have the black and white Gucci belt dupes) I’m thinking I should just add an “Amazon Dupes” tab to my blog. Would you guys like that?!

4: COUPONS

Besides Target, I kind of hate shopping in person. All the fabrics irritate my eyes, and it ruins the experience! Hahaha. It also drives me crazy because 9 times out of 10, I can find a 20% off coupon (or more) floating around the internet that doesn’t apply in store. *Major eye roll* The point of this tip is to ALWAYS check online for a coupon code before you purchase! Some stores do price match!

5: CLOSET

Shop in your OWN closet! (Or a friend’s!!) Learn how to style pieces different ways instead of buying a new outfit for every occasion/event! BTW- I love getting inspiration from Pinterest and other bloggers!

6: COFFEE

This is even hard for me to type, but limit those Starbucks coffee runs! They add up SO quick. I personally end up spending around $6 a visit. If I get an iced vanilla latte 3 times a week, that’s $18, $72 a month, and $864 A YEAR. Invest in a Keurig and make your own coffee instead! (Walmart has them for $60ish)

7: SELL

Sell any clothes you don’t want. I go through my closet once a month and pull things I no longer wear! I like posting on my Instagram closet page, but Facebook or apps like Curtsy and Poshmark work great too. Make sure you don’t sell yourself short either. If you paid $80 for a sweater and it’s still NWT, do NOT price at $5. Get your money’s worth girl!

8: HULU

My final advice is not fashion related, but it’s an amazing tip. Don’t pay for cable when Hulu is available for $5.99 a month! (Another option is an Amazon Fire Stick)

PS: The bodysuit and skort BOTH run small. I recommend sizing up! (Bodysuit is a US 4, needed US 6. Skort is a small, needed a medium)

$18 Bodysuit + My Favorite Denim Shorts

May 15, 2018

BODYSUIT (Small) | SHORTS (Size 24) | SANDALS (Size 7) | HAT | BRACELETS | EARRINGS

Yall. I have a serious new obsession with bodysuits! (Especially the ones that are kind of tight and suck you in.. a makeshift Spanx if you think about it! Lol) They go with everything AND don’t make you look frumpy, which is a huge plus. You never have to worry about keeping your shirt perfectly tucked in again! Lucky for all of us, my bodysuit is ON SALE for $18 and available in two other colors! I was surprised at the nice quality considering the low price tag. I did have to add my favorite turquoise earrings for a statement look! They’re $18 as well and the perfect dupe to a $100 designer pair!! (Hurry though, they are almost sold out again!!)

Although I try to keep my outfits super affordable, I LOVE to invest in pieces that are worth the $$$! And I SWEAR these shorts are! At $128, they fit perfectly and aren’t too short! (But not too long either) I even think they look like the Levi shorts everyone was/is obsessed with too! Not kidding- every time I am going somewhere, I immediately grab these shorts! They’re just THAT good. The only thing I noticed worth mentioning is that they do run big! I’m usually a 26, but ordered a 24 after reading the reviews, and the shorts fit great! If you have any questions about sizing, let me know in the comment section below! 🙂

HOLIDAY OUTFIT INSPIRATION

December 4, 2017

This is proof that twirling pictures take much more effort than normal ones! Besides from the slight blur (I did the best I could editing), they turned out pretty cute! 🙂

BODYSUIT: Nasty Gal | SKIRT: Target | HEELS: Sole Society | EARRINGS: BaubleBar | PURSE: Kate Spade

Happy Monday!

I am SO excited that it’s officially December, which means Christmas everything! *Insert praise hand emoji* From the lights to the cookies, this is my favorite time of the year. (Like everyone else lol!) It’s extra special this year though because I’m graduating from college on Friday. HOW am I old enough for this to be my life?! I really am happy to have accomplished such a huge milestone, but it’s also sad to think my time in Starkville is coming to an end. If I could relive the past four years, I would in a heartbeat! With graduation, people always ask, “So what’s next?” and I actually don’t have a definite answer. I do know that I am going to focus on growing Sassy Southern Blonde for the next few months to see where it goes because my end goal/dream is to turn this blog into a career!

Another fabulous thing about Christmas has to be the holiday parties! I already love dressing up for any occasion, but there’s something more fun about events/weddings/work parties during the holidays! You can also look amazing without spending a lot of money! My bodysuit is only $20 dollars with code GET50 (The entire website is 50% off) and my tulle skirt is actually under $20. I am linking a ton of dresses and jumpsuits that are gorgeous for holiday events in the carousel below!! Oh, and they’re all under $100! 🙂
